Hats Always On My Head!

It's so great to have you visit my hat blog!

My goal is to showcase the potential of even the most novice crocheter to be able to stitch together the most beautiful beanies, berets, and brain-warmers they never dreamed possible!

Please share your photos so I may place them on my Flickr page and here on this blog! I'm looking forward to sharing your hats with others and I just love to see what you have created!

For Variegated Only! Version 17

Version 17

For Variegated Only!

I love variegated yarns! Some do well for crochet and others don’t. For the ones that don’t do well I use this stitch pattern so my hats look good! I’m not a fan of sc but it does come in handy for some of my hat projects! Scroll down to last pic, I double crocheted a sample of this yarn.

 Back of hat.

This variegated yarn is one that does not look good using a dc or a triple!
I love the color combination's but looks best using the hdc/sc.

Ch 4, sl st in first ch made.

Round 1. Ch 1, hdc in ring 12 times. Sl st in top of 1st hdc made. (12 hdc)

Round 2. Ch 1, 1 hdc and 1 sc in same sp as ch 1. (1 hdc and 1 sc in each remaining 11 sp.)
Sl st in top of 1st hdc made. (12 hdc and 12 sc)

1 hdc and 1 sc in same sp, 1 hdc in next sp, 1 sc in next sp, 1 hdc in next sp.) 5 times.
In remaining 4 sp, 1 sc and 1 hdc in next sp, 1 sc in next sp, 1 hdc in next sp, 1 sc in next sp,

Round 6. Ch 1, 1 hdc in same sp as ch 1, 1 sc in next sp. (1 hdc in next sp, 1 sc in next sp) 11 times. Sl st in top of 1st hdc.

Rounds 7-23. Repeat Round 6.

Fasten off.

NOTES;

Rounds 7 – 23 is where you personalize the length of the hat. Make as many or as few rounds needed so the hat is as long as needed to cover your head.

You can also make extra rounds if you want a brim to roll up.

For Your Information;
This hat was made with Red Heart Peruvian Print worsted acrylic yarn, 4 ounces, a size J hook, and 23 rounds with no edging on the hat.
